I started skating because of my sister just to do a sport. It was interesting that I started skating. I’m very glad that I kept my position.
There were not many boys. In many competitions I was skating by myself. Maybe there were 2-5 skaters at Nationals.
First, there were not a lot of rinks in Spain. When I was young, I went to skating camps and one of the skaters there was Ivgeny Plushenko. For many years, I watched him skate.
Yes. It’s a good idea to bring something from your country. It has to be skatable. I took a risk. It was a challenge, but it turned out very well.
There are some specific areas that we need to work on. We can’t just make a rink. It’s hard to explain to the government or a company why they should make a rink. It can change, but we need help finding people to make a rink and a project. For example, SCOB (Skating Club of Boston) had a plan, and they know why they built a rink. In Spain a rink would be made just for regular people and the focus is not on the good skaters.
They are such different programs. The bull fighting one I like because it’s the story of me being a bull fighter, but then I become scared of the bull. Super Javi was less difficult to make, but it’s more tiring because I’m just being ridiculous. (see video in gallery below)
I don’t know which I would choose. I would like to be Captain Jack Sparrow!
